About Brian and Lisa

After years of late Sunday night discussions on how to drop out of the “rat race” and leave the 9-5 shift far behind, Brian and Lisa took over, as new owners of Skyewalker Hostel, in April 2007……and started working 7-11!!!Their dream was to turn a tired old tin shack school into the best little ol’ hostel on Skye!

With a lot of help from family and friends (there’s no such thing as a free holiday!) and much blood, sweat and beers, Skyewalker Hostel was transformed into the heavenly haven of Highland hospitality it is today.

Brian and Lisa are keen folk musicians and live music is a regular occurrence at the hostel, either from Brian and Lisa themselves or from guests who are encouraged to make use of the hostel’s guitars and other instruments.

“We hope all our guests enjoy the “home from home” atmosphere we have tried to create.

Our plan has always been simple. If we would be happy to stay here ourselves, on our holidays, (and Lisa’s pretty fussy), then we’re happy to have guests stay,”

“This seems to work for us and we have many guests who come back time and time again……a few of them, despite our best efforts!” says Brian.

Brian and Lisa are always delighted to welcome old friends and new faces to Skyewalker Hostel and are happy to share their knowledge of the island and indeed, their views on anything else with you!

So… is this “The best little ‘ol Hostel in Skye”? We think it is, but don’t take any notice of our HostelWorld awards for best in Scotland or the fantastic things our visitors have to say about Skyewalker Hostel… come and visit us and make your own mind up.
